THE BUFFALO CHORAL ARTS SOCIETY PRESENTS BROADWAY AND BEYOND

Returning to this historic venue for our sixth year, the Buffalo Choral Arts Society, a 120-member community chorus under the direction of  Marcia A. Giambrone, revs up to our season finale with our trademark Broadway spectacular. BROADWAY AND BEYOND features choral medleys and solos from a wide array of musicals.  

In celebration of  the 100 birthday year of  Leonard Bernstein, BCAS will perform selections from “West Side Story.”  Other perennial favorites will be performed from “The King and I,” “Finian’s Rainbow” and more.  On the more contemporary side, there will be songs from “Ragtime,” “Jekyll & Hyde” and others. Rounding out the program will be works from the Disney animated feature “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”   Tickets $20 each.

The Buffalo Choral Arts Society, a 110-voice community chorus under the direction of Marcia A. Giambrone; John A. Mitton, accompanist, is proud to present RINGING IN THE SEASON, a three Concert Series bringing the music of Christmas to the Northtowns, the Southtowns and the heart of the City of Buffalo.  Returning to perform with BCAS for all three of these festive Holiday Spectaculars are Special Guest Artists, The Royalton Ringers Handbell Quartet.

This year’s audiences will be treated to a program that offers a blend of familiar holiday favorites and hauntingly beautiful traditional Christmas choral literature.  Seasonal sacred favorites include “Wexford Carol” from James Bassi’s “Carol Symphony,”and John Rutter’s arrangement of “Go Tell It On The Mountain.”  Also included are two new arrangements by composer Dan Forrest.  On the lighter side, the chorus presents two favorites arranged by Harry Simeone, “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and his arrangement of the Clement Clark Moore poem, “’Twas The Night Before Christmas,” made popular by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians.  The Buffalo Choral Arts Society is in its 52nd Season of enriching the lives of music lovers across Western New York.  Join us for an evening of  song guaranteed to inspire and delight.

Buffalo Choral Arts Society presents A SALUTE TO OUR ARMED FORCES

The Buffalo Choral Arts Society

The Buffalo Choral Arts Society, a 110-voice community chorus under the direction of Marcia A. Giambrone; John A. Mitton, accompanist, is proud to present A SALUTE TO OUR ARMED FORCES, a tribute to our active duty military and veterans as we approach Veterans Day.  The repertoire for the Concert will include patriotic songs and music that celebrates the spirit of America.  Selections will include The Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Bring Him Home from Les Miserables and Homeland by world-famous composer/conductor Dr. Z. Randall Stroope.

Tickets are $15 each; but admission is FREE for veterans and active duty military with military I.D. at the door.  

Hosting the Concert will be Orchard Park’s own John Murphy, the play-by-play voice of the Buffalo Bills Radio Network, a position he has held since the retirement of the legendary Van Miller in 2003.  A native of  Lockport, NY, radio and television personality Murphy is best known for his association with the Buffalo Bills, serving as the Bills’ color analyst, alongside Van Miller (1984-1989 and 1994-2004) and for hosting The John Murphy Show, a Bills-themed talk show on WGR in Buffalo now simulcast on the MSG Television Network.
