Who are We?

Buffalo Theatre Guide is a free online publication run by volunteers who love the performing arts. Our writers have backgrounds in theater as actors, directors, producers, and even theatrical administrative staff.

Our goal is to promote the performing arts in the greater Buffalo area and surrounding suburbs. We do this by providing Theatre Reviews and News, Behind the Scenes Stories, Videos, and other content aimed at promoting a love of the performing arts in the community. Buffalo has a huge theatre presence with countless productions being mounted every year. It is our job to shine a light on all the great work being accomplished in our City Of Good Neighbors!

Our writers provide truthful insight in their reviews when they attend live performances. These reviews provide information on the writer’s experience during the performance. As a theatre reviewer, we aim to share with our readers the experience that we encountered while viewing a show. We do this by providing comments on performances, thoughts on the production, and if applicable, ideas for growth.

Our theatre reviews are broken down into two categories. Community Theatre and Professional Theatre. We define Community Theatre as an organization where the community joins forces to put on a production for the love of doing it, and where their time is completely volunteer.

We define Professional Theatre as an organization where actors, directors, and staff are paid for their efforts in presenting productions.

If you would like your production reviewed, please feel free to contact our editor, John Szablewski at BuffaloTheatreGuide [at] gmail.com.
