Casting Notices must be for LIVE PERFORMANCE only. They must include a date, location, phone number, email address, and must break down the parts that are being cast. Lancaster Regional Players

JUNE 22-23, 2017

David Hall and Joel Murphy are co-directing “Dracula”, the Steven Deitz version. Call backs will be held July 6 at the Lancaster Opera House at 7:00 pm.

Character Breakdown:
Mina- ( 20 to 35) British accent needed. Pure, virtuous and modest. Engaged to Harker.
Lucy- ( 20 to 35) British accent needed. Mina’s best friend. Excited by life and curious. More adventurous than Mina. Engaged to Dr. Seward.
Harker- ( male 20-35) British accent needed. Bright, intelligent and dutiful . Eager to begin married life with Mina.
Dr.Seward- ( male 20-35)- British accent needed. Psychiatrist who runs an insane asylum. In a religious pursuit to discover if madmen have souls.
Renfield- (Male 20-35) British accent needed. Very physical. Controlled by Dracula. Hysterical and insane but needs to portray a glimpse of the man he used to be.
Van Helsing- (Male 40- 65) German accent needed. Scientist and expert on rare, unexplained diseases. Actor must portray vitality in spite of his age but slowly ages.
Dracula-(Male 30- 45) Hungarian or similar accent. Must portray an old man that becomes younger and stronger as the play progresses. Must have a regal and sophisticated stature. Should be graceful with an air of weightlessness. Not looking for the stereo typical Bella Lugosi type.
Extras- (3 women, 2 males) Extra roles include: Vampires, Maid, Attendants. Actors must be capable of fluid movement, dance background would be helpful.

No appointment necessary. Sides will be given.

Dear World is a modern-day clash between good and evil is at the heart of this dazzling musical. Based on the classic play The Madwoman of Chaillot, it is equal parts comedy, political satire, and romance. The Countess Aurelia, driven mad by a lost lover, joins her various associates to try to stop corrupt corporate executives from drilling for oil under the streets of their Parisian neighborhood. GARDNER CHURCH – an eminent New England poet from a finer family, in his 70s

About Painting Churches: In a townhouse in the Beacon Hill area of Boston, an elderly couple, Fanny (in her 60s) and Gardner (in his 70s) Church, are packing. They are moving to a beach home on Cape Cod. Gardner is a poet and Fanny is from a “fine old family.” Their daughter Margaret (Mags), an artist who lives in New York, has arrived to help them pack and paint their portrait. Over the course of several days, Mags sees her role in the parent-child relationship changing. Gardner is having memory problems and has become frail, and in his frustration, recites the poetry of William Butler Yeats and Robert Frost, among others. Mags finishes the portrait of her parents, in the style of Renoir. Her parents are able to see Mags talent, and enjoy being in a “Renoir” party as they dance a waltz.

About An Act of GOD: Based on a satirical book and twitter account, An Act of God is a 90- minute conversation in which God will reveal the mysteries of the Bible and answer some of the greatest existential questions that plague mankind.

Auditions will be held at O’Connell & Company at The Park School of Buffalo, June 26th from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

• Prepare 2 Contrasting Broadway songs 16 bars in length.
Auditioners should bring sheet music and come prepared to sing to piano accompaniment. Pianist provided. No a capella or electronic accompaniment, please.

Those auditioning for the plays PAINTING CHURCHES and/or AN ACT OF GOD will read from the script.

HISTORIC PALACE THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTMAN COUNTY SPELLING BEE

LOCKPORT N.Y, – The Historic Palace Theatre is thrilled to announce that they will be holding auditions for their upcoming production of the 25th Annual Putam County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, July 18th from 6pm-8pm at the Historic Palace Theatre. The Historic Palace Theatre production of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling opens October 12th and run through October 15th.

An eclectic group of six-graders arrives at the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, each eager to win for very different reasons. In hilarious, touching, and catchy songs, each speller reveals his/her hopes, struggles, and passions as they make their way through the competition. With an engaging, tuneful score by William Finn and a sweet, funny book by Rachel Sheinkin, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee causes audiences to fall in love, both with the show itself and its “perspicacious,” “jocular,” and “effervescent” spellers.

Please come prepared with 32 bars of music, an accompanist will be provided for you and there is no need to make an appointment. We ask that all auditioning be at least 18 years old. We are casting for all parts at this audition.

The Historic Palace Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Lockport, NY. Built in 1925 by Charles Dickenson, the proscenium arch style space is well known as an architectural marvel of the city. The theatre is owned and operated by a non-profit organization, Historic Palace Inc.

HISTORIC PALACE THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR THE LITTLE MERMAID

LOCKPORT N.Y, – The Historic Palace Theatre is thrilled to announce that they will be holding auditions for their upcoming production of The Little Mermaid on Wednesday, August 2nd from 6pm-8pm at the Historic Palace Theatre. The Historic Palace Theatre production of The Little Mermaid opens March 8th and runs through March 18th, with two on school time performance.

Set under and above the high seas, The Little Mermaid tells the story of Ariel, an adventurous young mermaid who’s got a thing for disobeying the rules and following her heart. Ariel’s fascination with the human world often leads her to the sea surface, a zone that’s designated as “off-limits” by her father Triton, the sea king. One day while sneaking to the surface, Ariel witnesses a shipwreck and rescues Prince Eric, with whom she become instantly smitten. Furious at Triton’s inability to understand her love for the prince, Ariel runs away and strikes a deal with Ursula, Triton’s evil witch of a sister, to experience the life she dreams of on land.

Please come prepared with 32 bars of music, an accompanist will be provided for you and there is no need to make an appointment. We ask that all auditioning be at least 16 years old. We are casting for the following roles: King Triton, Scuttle, Flounder, Flotsam, Jetsam, The Mer Sisters, Grimsby, Chef Louie, & Ensemble.
