Aurora Players Presents: Christmas Cabaret

December 8th and 9th @ 8pm

Directed by Matt Bannister and Rachelle Francis

Description:Christmas Cabaret is a night of joyful holiday music and performances performed by local musicians, singers, and dancers. Join Aurora Players for a night of family friendly fun, which includes a caroling sing along at the end! Tickets will be sold at the door for $5. All ages welcome to audition!

Auditions:Auditions will be held at the Roycroft Pavilion October 16th and 17th at 7pm. People who choose to audition must perform part of a holiday song that they would perform at the Cabaret. We are looking for singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. Piano accompaniment will be provided.

  • Singers: If you need accompaniment, please bring a copy of sheet music for the accompanist. You may accompany yourself on the piano or on your own instrument.
  • Instrumentalists: A piano will be provided at the pavilion. All other instruments (Ex. guitar, drums, violin) must be brought to auditions.
  • Dancers: Please provide a CD or MP3 of the song that you are dancing to.

Selected performers may be asked to perform 1 or 2 extra pieces, or may be asked to collaborate with other performers for the show.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held at the Roycroft Pavilion Mondays and Wednesdays starting October 30th at 7pm. Most practice will be expected to happen at home. For those who need accompaniment, we will set up rehearsal times for you to rehearse with the accompanist. Rehearsals will mostly be composed of running musical numbers and working on transitions between acts.

Abby/Euphoria – female mid 20’s – The Crush – Quirky girl next door. A singing role

Becki/Bic – female mid 20’s – The Roommate – Hippy chick with a unique flare. A singing and dancing role

Pat/Bud – male mid 20’s – The Best Friend – Stoner dude with the connections. Back up singing role

Eric/Epic Fail – male mid 20’s – Classic bad guy – A singing role

Bill/Hork – male mid 20’s – Henchman – A singing role

Mom/Shoebox – female over 45 – Jerry’s Mom – Sexy and hip.

Doobie Dave – male over 40 – Classic stoner burnout.

The Mighty High/Mr. Highgate – male over 40 – The King of The Land of 420. A singing role

The Fairies – (Joy, Bliss, Happiness, and Yahtzee) – female or male mid 20’s – The Kings helpers and assistants. Dancing and back up singing roles.

Raiders of Niagara announces auditions for “Murder in the Cathedral,” T.S. Eliot’s poetic retelling of the murder of the Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket. Auditions take place at the Church of the Advent, 54 Delaware Rd. Kenmore 14217 Oct. 20 at 7:00 PM and Oct. 21 at 11:00 AM.
