Shea’s Performing Arts Center announced it will host a Celebration of Life in honor of the late Bill Crooker, who served as President of the Spotlight Committee for 20 years. The memorial celebration will take place in the Shea’s Buffalo Theatre lobby from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23.
“Bill did so much for Shea’s throughout the years and was a friend to many,” said Bobbi Scott, Manager of Events and Hospitality at Shea’s PAC, who worked closely with Mr. Crooker. “We encourage friends who attend this celebration of Bill’s life to bring a story or memory to share.”
“Bill was a long-time board member of the Shea’s O’Connell Preservation Guild, and his dedication is exemplified in the beauty of our theatre,” added Michael G. Murphy, Shea’s PAC President. “We will honor that dedication not only with a memorial celebration, but by continuing Bill’s mission of restoring and maintaining Shea’s Buffalo Theatre for generations to come.”
The Shea’s Performing Arts Center the Spotlight Committee is fundraising entity whose members volunteer to support performances at Shea’s Buffalo Theare by: selling concessions, champagne or raffle tickets; operating the coat check/hearing enhancer station & player piano; and, staffing the Member’s Lounge. Funds raised by Spotlight Volunteers during performances, as well as the annual 5K Race, help to preserve, assist, and promote Shea’s Buffalo Theatre.
